for inspiration - travel blogs
I love reading blogs. This is a list of some of my favorite travel blogs that I've perused over the years and that motivated me to pack my bags for Croatia.
Adventurous Kate
At age 26, Kate quit her job to spend 6 months in Southeast Asia. Today she has turned her travel blog into her full-time career. Her goal is to show how you can travel the world on your own -- easily, safely, and adventurously.
Nomadik Nation
A group of contributors like to explore and inspire others to do the same. Their favorite possession is their passport and their lives consist of a wealth of constant diversity infused by our friends, locations and styles. When they travel, they speak the language, eat the street food, and party with the locals.
Nomadic Matt
Matt quit his job in 2004 to travel and has been traveling ever since. His website is a worthy resource for up-to-date information to help you travel better, cheaper, and longer.
Go See Write
Michael is an attorney who took off on his birthday in December 2008 to circumnavigate the globe without ever getting on an airplane. After 16 months, 6 continents, and 44 countries, he made it back home. Right now, he's back on the road in Colombia, writing about it all.
Suzy Guese
Suzy didn't start her travel site because she needed an escape from her job. Since graduating from college in 2009, she hasn't ever worked in an office and doesn't intend to in the future. More often than not, her travels are laced with hints of her redheaded temperament. Annoyance, temper, sarcasm, or passion may weave their way into her words, enough proof that her hair color is indeed natural.
Never Ending Footsteps
In July 2011, Lauren left England for what was supposed to be a one year trip around the world. Within a few months of leaving she knew that a year would never be enough. She works online and travels permanently, seeking misadventures in unique, beautiful and fascinating places. Lauren says she's also here to show you how not to travel. She has been "poked" during a massage in Bangkok, punched a scammer in Shanghai, been attacked by monkeys in Bali, sat next to a dead woman on a boat in Laos, and so much more.
A Dangerous Business
Amanda is a graduate student by day and an avid traveler and blogger by night (and on weekends and during holidays), She's a small-town Ohio girl trying to balance a "normal" life with a desire to discover the world beyond her Midwest bubble.
