hvar & korcula, croatia
hvar
We spent the morning wandering Split and left the city to explore some of Croatia's islands. We took a catamaran ride to Hvar. In Hvar we had one of the best meals of the trip, a seafood bisque soup. We also visited a lace museum where the nuns opened the museum especially for us. Their intricate lacework was stunning. We couldn't take pictures, but to the left is a postcard featuring their delicate lace. |
Hvar is a small island, a little over 40 miles long. It is known for being fertile with pine forests, vineyards, fruit orchards olive groves, and fields of lavender. Now it is an important part of the fishing and tourism industries.
KORČULA
We boarded the catamaran to Vela Luka where we met up with our bus and headed to Korcula where we started relaxing right away!
